In the age of the Internet, anonymous online users can form a societal reaction by posting large quantities of critique and insulting comments against (perceived) norm violations on social media. These so-called online firestorms, or Enjō in Japanese, tend to include aggressive behavior against the target. This research aims to reveal the dynamics of Enjō and explores how people communicate with each other in the formation process of Enjō by conducting a comparative case study. This study collects tweets posted in five Enjō cases and compares each case to create conceptual categories of the communication process of Enjō. Results show that the participants of Enjō interact with each other to define the problem of concern through exchange of information. The research addresses the link between emotional dysregulation, nomophobia, and Instagram addiction in Chilean university students. A quantitative study of correlational scope was conducted with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 218 university students from south-central Chile, who answered the Difficulties in Emotional Regulation Scale (DERS-E), the Nomophobia questionnaire NMP-Q, the Berger Instagram Addiction Scale (BIAS) and reported some parameters of their Instagram account activity. The results account for multiple correlations between nomophobia and Instagram addiction with all dimensions of emotional dysregulation. Virtual social networks have had a notable impact on our lives, and over the years it has led to the creation of new virtual socialization platforms such as Instagram, which in our context has taken great interest, especially in adults young people, occupying a large part of their personal, academic, work and social space, often leading to problematic behaviors such as addiction.
