This paper contributes to the reflection on the process of transition from analog television to digital television which is to be broadcasted in Peru and considers that digital television offers a better sound and image quality and less interference. The process of technological migration may take 1 O years. Peru has already opted for rhe Japanese standard HDTV, which among orher advanrages offers portable and mobile reception. Nonetheless, the high resolution relevision does not seem feasible not does ir make enrreprises more competitive. Este estudio propone una evaluación de la calidad periodística utilizando indicadores interculturales y códigos deontológicos. Para ello se observa la cobertura televisiva internacional, ofrecida por las televisiones públicas europeas BBC, TF 2 France, RAI 1 y TVE 1 en el período del 19 al 22 de octubre de 2013, de la historia conocida mediáticamente como “el ángel rubio”: la aparición de una niña en un campamento gitano en Grecia, en un presunto caso de tráfico de menores o de un secuestro. Se constata que la información se aleja de los estándares de calidad y contribuye a la estigmatización de los gitanos y a la etnificación del delito.

The macro-genre of TV infotainment comprises several genres and, regardless of the label under which each is defined, offers a wide range of variations and combinations that are constantly being reinvented. The infotainment report implies a mutation of the purely informative genre, as the representation of everyday lives has become a major television spectacle with its own characteristics. This research identifies 29 infotainment programmes broadcast on generalist television in Spain between 1990 and 2020 and analizes their evolution. The channels that have broadcast the highest number of infotainment reports are La Sexta (eleven programmes) and Cuatro (eight), followed by TVE ‘s La 1 (four), Antena 3 (three) and Telecinco (three). The understanding of democracy as a political organization form, has in many scenarios the debate on how pure is in a representative form and how effective is when is “pure” or direct democracy, as well as thought for the “polis” or places with an specific geographic location, contrary to the Saskia Sassen concept of “global cities”. From this discussion, we can address the television as a twentieth century mass media, funded and operated by governments or private companies, exercising symbolic power in a nation, as seen by the John B. Thompson power forms in modern societies, and as an organizational form that clearly exemplifies a representative democracy from the choice of themes, characters, speech and even workflow technology.

Artificial Intelligence has reached journalism in different phases of the news production process, from the identification of news trends to data processing or the automatic production of texts, among others. Its potential manifests itself especially when there is a large amount of data, something that sections such as sports and economy can offer. Of the two options, in this work we chose sports journalism and, thus, we sought to know and understand how newspapers, radios, TV's and digital native products in Brazil and Portugal have been related to Artificial Intelligence. The case of the private media confiscated in Ecuador at the beginning of Rafael Correa’s presidency (2007 – 2017) led to complex economic, legal, and professional circumstances for the media companies and their journalists. This paper aims to share a broad and documented perspective on the origin and development of the issue at hand by combining three methods for its approach: the historical method, analysis of media policies and in-depth interviews. The presence of beauty in society has now a leading role thanks to the relevance that social media has given it. There is a tendency to elaborate reality TV shows based on beauty. This article analyses the comments of the judges of America’s Next Top Model Season 19th to discover if the message in this show can be transmitted as a positive message in a time where reality shows are cataloged as low quality television. This article analyzes the negative evolution of the revenues of the European public media and the audience of its television channels between 2010 and 2018. The financial and share data –mainly obtained from the EAO– have been contrasted, at a quantitative level, with homogenizing economic indicators such as PPP; and have been grouped around the models proposed by Hallin and Mancini (2004, 2008, 2013). At a qualitative level, with the interviews of two academics –Tiziano Bonini (University of Siena) and Marko Ala-Fossi (University of Tampere)– and Mika Ojamies, director of international relations at YLE. However, despite the confirmation of this negative trend, there is no correlation between the decline in income and that of the audience. In any case, the Academy evidences the need to develop new financing systems that guarantee the budgetary stability of public media.

During the last two decades, the traditional media model of the local press has suffered a deep crisis which, together with the economic one, has led to the closure of many newspapers and staff cuts. The growing need for a truthful local news offer and the adverse labor reality in the communication sector have motivated many journalists to found their own local and hyperlocal media in the network. In this research, an exploratory study is carried out to elaborate the first map of local and hyperlocal online media in Spain, with the objective of knowing the presence of this type of media in the State. Muchas variables no controladas dificultan la generación o incluso la evaluación de relaciones causa-efecto. Esta tesis estudió 99 televisiones comerciales peruanas de la campaña electoral de 1990. El objetivo fue explorar la relación entre el contenido y la forma de los anuncios con sus variables contextuales.
