La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre Sobrepeso - obesidad pregestacional y la morbilidad neonatal en el Hospital Belén de Lambayeque del 2021 al 2022. Por ello se optó por un diseño descriptivo de relación, la técnica utilizada fue la observación y el instrumento una ficha de recolección de datos elaborado por las investigadoras, donde se consideró lo siguiente: En la primera variable IMC pregestacional ≥ 25kg/m2; Obesidad pregestacional I ≥ 30kg/m2; Obesidad II pregestacional ≥ 35kg/m2 y Obesidad III pregestacional ≥ 40kg/m2; en la segunda variable morbilidad neonatal: Bajo Apgar al nacer, macrosomía fetal, bajo peso al nacer, prematuridad, malformaciones congénitas; la población de estudio fue de 120 historias clínicas de gestantes. Como resultados se obtuvo una alta incidencia de sobrepeso (48.3%) y obesidad pregestacional (51.7%), el APGAR bajo fue la condición más frecuente, afectando al 26.7% de los casos, seguido por la macrosomía fetal (15%), el 15% de los neonatos de madres obesas y el 11.6% de los de madres con sobrepeso presentaron un APGAR bajo. Se concluye que ninguna de estas condiciones de morbilidad neonatal presenta una asociación estadísticamente significativa (p > 0,05) con la obesidad o el sobrepeso pregestacional. |

Therefore, a descriptive relationship design was chosen, the technique used was observation and the instrument a data collection form prepared by the researchers, where the following was considered: In the first variable pregestational BMI ≥ 25kg / m2; Pregestational obesity I ≥ 30kg / m2; Pregestational obesity II ≥ 35kg / m2 and Pregestational obesity III ≥ 40kg / m2; in the second variable neonatal morbidity: Low Apgar at birth, fetal macrosomia, low birth weight, prematurity, congenital malformations; the study population was 120 medical records of pregnant women. The results showed a high incidence of overweight (48.3%) and pregestational obesity (51.7%). Low APGAR was the most frequent condition, affecting 26.7% of cases, followed by fetal macrosomia (15%). 15% of neonates of obese mothers and 11.7% of those of overweight mothers had a low APGAR.
