According to the oriental philosophy this is called centration and a mental posture consistent in being alert of oneself, allowing the organism to go, without pushing or braking.El autor considera que "toda terapia puede llevarse a cabo únicamente en el ahora"; cualquier otro enfoque constituye una perturbación. La importancia de esta relación terapéutica constituye el elemento primordial en la Terapia Gestáltica. Todo esto significa estar en "contacto con", es decir, estar con el propio "self", con el propio cuerpo, con la propia respiración, con las actitudes corporales e incluso con las contracciones musculares.
