In February 2019, Peru and the Russian Federation celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at Embassy lev-el. However, the first diplomatic contact between the two countries dates back to 1863, with Peru being one of the first states in the region to es-tablish a relationship with the then Russian Empire. El Instituto de Estudios Internacionales (IDEI) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, cuenta con una serie de publicaciones sobre política exterior peruana en la que se han venido estudiando las relaciones diplomáticas entre el Perú y sus principales socios de América, Europa y Asia. Con ello no solo se ha cubierto el vacío que existía en la bibliografía nacional sobre la materia sino que además se ha buscado contribuir con la política exterior del Perú, contribuyendo con estudios e ideas que puedan ser utilizadas por los operadores estatales. De igual forma, estos textos pretenden aportar conocimiento para favorecer el debate y nuevas investigaciones sobre esta área, tan importante para el mundo académico como para el desarrollo de nuestro país.

Esta pieza académica titulada “La Conexión China en la Política Exterior del Perú en el siglo XXI” es el resultado de un esfuerzo mancomunado de la London School of Economics- Global South Unit (LSE-GSU LSE IDEAS), el Instituto de Estudios Internacionales (IDEI) y la Escuela de Gobierno de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) y los sectores académico, diplomático y empresarial del Perú.
