Summary:Determine if brain/umbilical pulsatility index minor than 10 th percentile in at term pregnant women predict acute fetal distress. Material and Methods: We made an analytic, observational, diagnosis test. The population were integrated by 144 pregnant women according to inclusion and exclusion criteria set divided into two groups: with and without abnormal brain/umbilical pulsatility index. Results: Brain/umbilical pulsatility index minor than 10 th percentile has a sensivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value to predict acute fetal distress of 30%, 96%, 86% and 63% respectively; (p<0.05). Conclusions: Brain/umbilical pulsatility index minor than 10 th percentile has value to predict acute fetal distress. Brain/umbilical pulsatility index is not associated to low Apgar puntation. Brain/umbilical pulsatility index is associated to cesarean delivery
