Summary:The goal of this research was to determine Filgrastim use in hospitalized patients in Clinic Hematology Service of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital during July - December, 2007. This descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study included 51 patients with lymphoblastic or myeloid leukemia diagnosis, who received chemotherapy and initiated treatment with FILGRASTIM. The main indication for filgrastim use was the therapeutic reason (76.46 %). According to the neutropenia risk, the indication was right for patients with high and intermediate risk (100 %), except those with low risk (54.55 %). Concerning the administration, the parameters of interval of dose, route of administration and regimen of end fulfilled the indications in a suitable way (100 %), unlike the dose (43 %) and regimen of beginning (23.53 %). For the criteria established by NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network), the disease type and the intention of treatment justified the indication (100 %), regimen of chemotherapy (94.12 %) and risk factors (90.20 %).
