Summary:This descriptive research will determine whether the Internet affects the academic performance of students in the 8th cycle of the Career of Nursing at the National University of Trujillo - 2008. The sample universe was comprised of 68 nursing students according to established criteria for inclusion. To obtain data, a survey was compiled in order to identify the amount of Internet use and its scope of use in the various areas of the nursing career. According to the results, the following conclusion illustrates that 89.7 porcent of students obtained a good academic performance. The scope of the Internet mostly used is information space was 82.4 porcent. Students used the Internet (75 porcent) frequently for information space in the area of Community Health. 96.9 porcent of students with good academic performance use the Internet on a regular basis as a tool to communicate. We found no statistical influence on the use of the Internet with the academic achievement of students.
