Summary:In this thesis we are dealing with the description of the communicative functions in the farming, commercial and cultural activities in two bilingual scenarios located in the province of Huaraz in the department of Ancash in the north of Peru, regarding bilingualism quechua - spanish. These two communicative scenarios describe: (1) the subordinate bilingualism Quechua - Spanish with predominance of the Quechua language in farming, commercial and cultural activities in the rural community of Yanaqoshqa and (2) the subordinate bilingualism Quechua - Spanish with predominance of the Spanish language in commercial and cultural activities in the urban city of Huaraz. This investigation is of descriptive nature and, as mentioned above, has been developed fundamentally on remarking places of the events, detailed descriptions, analysis and interpretation of the different bilingual communicative interactions of the Quechua in Ancash and Spanish in two stages or contexts perfectly defined: a rural community and  an urban city
