|Summary:||The present work realized in hydroponics module of the National university of Trujillo, from august 2012 to January 2013 aimed to evaluate the production of tomato (Lycopersicon Esculetum Mill) var. Rio Grande in five hydroponic substrates as well as compare the phonological and morphological differences and the external quality of the product, since investing a suitable substrate in the hydroponic production, farmers are able to reduce restrictions , water and nutrients, with efficient plague control, diseases and weed, allowing the plant express its genetic potential leading to improve its own production and the quality its own products. The statistical randomized complete block design was used with five treatments and four replications, the treatments are: To (sand 40% and rice husk 60% T1 (sand 50% brick 50%) T2 (sand 60% and moss 40%) T3 (brick 40% and rice husk 60%) T4 (perlite 100). The result indicate that treatment T2 and T4, it was obtained the highest production (24.6 and 24.1 t/ha respectively). As for the day of flowering, fruiting and harvesting, there were no statistical differences. With the treatments To,T3, and T2, it was obtained the highest plant and with T1,T2,T2,the larger diameter of the stem along with T4, it was obtained the values greater diameter and length of fruit (4.28 and 5.24 cm respectively|
