Summary:In this study the nutritional status and academic performance in school Educational Institutions 81764 "La Cantera" and "San Luis" 2008 was determined. The age is between 6 and 16 years old. The objective was determined and compared the nutritional status and academic performance the two Educational institutions. We evaluate 258 children of school State 81764 "La Cantera" and the Private Educational Institution "San Luis", they was select randomly. The parameters anthropometric was weight and smaller, on relation to the age and sex according to Waterlow’s criteria. In “La Cantera’ school, the 37.33% of de students have got some type of an malnutrition and there isn’t child with obesity, but in San Luis’ school there isn’t students have an malnutrition but there is a high percentage of obesity. It was concluded that a relationship exists between nutritional status and academic performance in school Educational Institutions 81764 "La Cantera" and the Private Educational Institution "San Luis"
