El estudio fue cuantitativo y cuasi experimental de dos grupos no equivalentes que se sometieron a un pre y pos test para determinar el desempeño en la redacción de los estudiantes al inicio y al final de la investigación. Los participantes fueron divididos administrativamente en dos grupos y estos fueron seleccionados al azar para ser el grupo de control y experimental. Los hallazgos de este estudio respaldan la idea de que el enfoque por proceso puede ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar el contenido de su escritura. Como resultado, los textos estuvieron bien unificados y completos. Asimismo, el cambio en el rol del docente del rol tradicional -asumiendo el papel de un consultor y facilitando la creación paso a paso del texto del alumno-, fue crucial para ayudar a los estudiantes a escribir mejor.
