In addition, the article identifies a break with some of the hardboiled novel's elements, particularly those related with the system of characters, as well as the use of multiple voices and narrative perspectives, all this considering the ability of a genre whose history has been typified by a principle of obsolescence (a concept proposed by Jacques Dubois) suitable for a narrative that portrays a society in crisis and exposed to violence. |

En primer lugar, se examinan los efectos que produce la violencia en los cuerpos y subjetividades de los personajes masculinos y femeninos representados en la novela empleando las tres dimensiones de la violencia propuestas por Johan Galtung.
