| Sumario: | The objective of this study was to determine the main pathologies diagnosed during the period between 2019 and 2021 in sheep raised in the state of Colima, Mexico. Eigthy necropsies were performed and it was observed that the system with the most findings was the digestive 33/80 (41.3%), followed by the respiratory 24/80 (30.0%), the lymphatic 8/80 (10%), the skin 7 /80 (8.8%), the musculoskeletal 4/80 (5.0%), the central nervous 3/80 (3.8%) and finally the endocrine system 1/80 (1.3%). The results of necropsies and histopathology were grouped into the following categories: non-parasitic infectious 36/80 (45.0%), parasitic infectious 27/80 (33.8%), toxic 7/80 (8.8%), physical 6/80 (7.5%) and nutritional-metabolic 4/80 (5.0%). The main diagnoses were mycotic rhinitis 10/80 (12.5%), caseous lymphadenitis 8/80 (10.0%), and haemonchosis 7/80 (8.8%). The epidemiological and pathological data presented in this study can help to identify and establish control measures for diseases that affect sheep in the Mexican tropics. |
