This research focuses on uncovering the history and characteristics of the duplex with double height as an option to improve spatial quality. In Lima, the influence of Le Corbusier is reflected in forty buildings that adopt this typology, combining classical and contemporary architectural solutions. The methodology used included searching for projects in Lima with this characteristic and conducting interviews with architects and users. The opinions were analyzed using the ATLAS.ti software, and the conclusions reflect the motivations for adopting this typology as part of Lima’s modern built heritage.El dúplex con doble altura es una tipología de vivienda intrigante y subutilizada, que destaca por duplicar la altura interna del departamento, facilitando la conexión espacial entre ambientes de diferentes niveles. A diferencia de la tipología flat, que se caracteriza por un único espacio horizontal, el dúplex con doble altura ofrece una alternativa espacial distintiva. Esta investigación se enfoca en revelar la historia y características del dúplex con doble altura como una opción para mejorar la calidad espacial. En Lima, la influencia de Le Corbusier se refleja en 40 edificios que adoptan esta tipología, combinando soluciones arquitectónicas clásicas y contemporáneas. La metodología utilizada incluyó la búsqueda de proyectos en Lima con esta característica y la realización de entrevistas a arquitectos y usuarios.
