The detection, monitoring and management depend on knowledge of the new terminology and parameters for identification that is related to clinical presentation and progression in relation to gestational age and from its etiology. We describe the typical presentations of early and late FGR and the need to differentiate the normal constitutionally small (NCS).La Restricción del Crecimiento Fetal (RCF) es un crecimiento anormal que se asocia a pronóstico adverso a corto, mediano y largo plazo. Los factores etiológicos pueden estar actuando sinérgicamente y por tanto el uso de múltiples  parámetros para su identificación que está en relación a su presentación clínica y progresión dependiente de la edad gestacional y de su etiología.
