Explanatory models were proposed for electricity production and productivity. Also, access to electricity for rural households and its impact on income. In the first model, the results showed a positive and significant impact, which indicates that if public investment in electricity transmission infrastructure increased by 1%, electricity production increased by 1.35%. In the model related to households, it can be seen that if access to electricity is increased by 1% in rural households, rural economic income increases by 0.89%. The research confirmed that public investment is a mechanism to achieve economic growth.El objetivo fue estimar la incidencia de la inversión pública en infraestructura de transmisión eléctrica sobre el crecimiento de la producción eléctrica en el Perú durante el periodo 2000 - 2020. Para la investigación se tomó una muestra de 126 observaciones obteniéndose 6 variables para el modelo. Se plantearon modelos explicativos de la producción eléctrica, la productividad, el acceso a la electricidad de los hogares rurales y su impacto en el ingreso. En el primer modelo, los resultados evidenciaron la incidencia positiva y significativa, que señala si se incrementa en 1% la inversión pública en infraestructura de transmisión eléctrica, aumenta en 1.35% la producción eléctrica. En el modelo relacionado con los hogares, se aprecia que, si se incrementa en 1% el acceso a la electricidad en los hogares rurales, aumenta en 0.89% los ingresos económicos rurales.
